I was very angry! I never complain but I thought I was staying at the Providence Marriott downtown. That is how they advertise it which is false advertising, wrong, unethical, and a bad way to do business! I went to the Marriott downtown and they told me that was not the hotel. What do you mean? It states downtown? The girl said Oh, alot of people make that mistake. No, its not their mistake because you state this hotel is downtown. What are people out of state suppose to think? The ONLY reason I reluctantly paid $600 for a 2 day stay was because it was downtown. I could walk to mall etc. This hotel was off the beaten path, not worth the money, not in a great area because they had security circling the building at night, rooms not great/updated-at least the one I stayed at. No one at both hotels did anything for me. They tried to justify my situation which they couldn't. They had a shuttle every 1/2 to bring you downtown.....hello...that means you are not downtown! Not right when the Marriott actually has a hotel downtown. I feel I was "duped" and overpaid. I was mad because it was inconvenient. I missed the shuttle and had to take uber. This stay changed my mind about the Marriott as a business and I feel they lure people in and charge them top dollar which is wrong, unethical, and false advertising. If you are going to stay downtown and decide to spend the money, stay at the Omni. It connects to the mall, donkin donuts center, its nice, and they are an ethical company.
