Extended Stay America Suites - Austin - Downtown - Town Lake

Negatives: The hot water was off for the last 2 days of my stay. I was there for a tattoo convention and couldn't shower, so it was hard to clean my tattoo I got and still had 2 more days to be there for the convention.

Negatives: Floor and walls covered with old food and other mess. The smell in my room was gross. A guest, who was friendly with staff, stalked me around the hotel.That guest made comments which made me uncomfortable and felt completely unsafe for my family to stay a single night. We booked another hotel immediately after the stalker mention 3 people died in the hotel recently with 1 dying last week. This plus odd smell in the room had me throwing away $200+ I spent with extended stay.

Negatives: Booked a room for of $89 after taxes 104.70. Which was no problem. After booking my room and paying. Once arrived I get on site and request for my room. Lady at the front desk says sorry theirs no rooms anymore. So I told her that's OK, I already booked a room online. Showed her my email confirmation and she rolled her eyes. And stairs at the computer and says "yeah theirs no room available but we can upgrade you to a bigger room , so we're gonna have to upcharge you" I told her nope! That's not my problem, I shouldn't be paying extra. That's a problem between yall and the booking app and she refused to honor the price. Afterwards. I had to get the room, since I'm not from that town. It was for work. So afterwards she gave me my keycard and said where my room is located. So I asked for a receipt, and she again rolled her eyes and was like "you want your receipt?" Of course after what you pulled off who wouldn't. After printing the receipt, she tried so hard to clear her name and was like "by the way, I we didn't charge you for the upgrade" lmao lady it clearly states it on the paper TWO!!!! upcharges!!!! Of $5 afterwards the subtotal was from 104.70 to $116. So I told her if yall didn't upcharge me, why is the subtotal different than what I paid for and showed her the breakdown of the receipt when I paid compared to the paper receipt she gave me and the upcrges. This lady I'm sorry but how does she have a job? Lying all the time without no accountability.

Negatives: passages were smelly and dark carpets even looked dirty.

Negatives: Leaky bathroom plumbing and shower knob fell off. Grimy alarm/radio. Exterior of refrigerator facing sink was dirty.

Negatives: There was the smell of strong odor of marijuana inside the building throughout the night.

Negatives: The staff were extremely rude. When I asked about the complimentary breakfast the front desk woman started to gossip and berate my wife in me in Spanish, not knowing I’m a fluent Spanish speaker. But rather than stoop to her level we just left the hotel and got breakfast nearby. My wife wanted to complain to the manager but I encouraged her not to. Life is too short.
