Positives:
We appreciated the fact that La Quinta allows dogs. This is the primary reason why we chose La Quinta. Toiletries are good. Location is very convenient. They also accommodated date changes that we couldn't avoid, which was kind.
Negatives:
1) Elevator did not function half of the time because the door couldn't close completely. This would be an accessibility issue for the disabled! I've never encountered this at a hotel before.
2) Floor of our room obviously uncleaned / unmopped. Footprints from previous guest(s) and actual grime.
3) Shabbiness of our room. Torn sheer curtains, baseboards removed from sections of the wall
4) Moderate unclean odor in the room, masked with fragrance
5) Fussy keycard reader
We shouldn't have to complain about these basic things. A hotel should know how it operates. Room 310 desperately needs to be deep-cleaned. Just because people are traveling with pets doesn't mean basic cleanliness doesn't matter.

When I first walked into the lobby I smelled a nursing home smell. That surprised me. There was a straw paper wrapper on our room floor along with a piece of cotton. That surprised me as well. Not top of the line but comfortable and affordable.

Curtains torn main windows, ice machine filthy, odor source unknown. Bath room ADA tub was a makeshift chair. Heavy stains bathroom. We did not use shower. Hotel is just old and run down. Will not use it when we return.
