Nothing went well. I called the day of our reservation to say we wouldn't be in until about 10pm. The Salt Lake Downtown Motel 6 that I booked through booking.com said they are no longer Motel 6 and would not honor my reservation. I even called the corporate Motel 6 office and they said that property used to be Motel 6, but was no longer Motel 6 and they would not honor any previous reservations.

There was actually hot water, and the AC worked (but it was very loud).

Attention: it is not a Motel 6 anymore! At least that is what they claimed. And they did not want to honor my reservation, as it was "lost". Had to pay much more. And only in cash, they did not accept credit cards. And could not provide a receipt, either. Scam.
The hotel itself is terrible. Lots of junkies on the stairs, and also as guests. Paper-thin walls, we heard our neighbors talking and "making love".
The sheets had blood stains...
Ah, and they of course do not reply to messages here. But neither did booking.com about my complaint.
