Room key card wouldn't work on the first room. The bathroom could be freshened up a bit with modern shower controls and a replacement tub surround.

The property needs some investment. And for the over $400/night rate (it was graduation weekend) I felt that I was paying way over the odds for a property which probably hasn't seen much in the way of improvements since the 90s.

Hallways had musty smell, carpet very dirty, tape was holding carpet under room doorway, a/c barely worked - room was warm, breakfast was pretty sad in a dark corner of lobby, furniture in room was scratched all up

Handle fell off shower, lack of towels in room for size of room. No receipt at check at out, they told us at check in they told us they had trouble with third party reservations, ie booking.com, so we assumed we checked in without reservation. We still don't have a receipt.

The check in gentleman was great, as he was when we needed an issue fixed at 10pm. The lady he had with him also was phenomenal when the issue occurred.
Negatives:
I was told a manager was going to call me in regards to an issue, and it has been 2 days and I have not received any phone call.
The staff handled the issues amazingly and were very apologetic. I am surprised that I have not heard from management yet especially given that we were pretty understanding about the issue.

The shower where broken
Positives:
Angela, from the front desk staff, went above and beyond twice for us. One of our room keys didn't work and my husband was at the pool with the other one. Since two NEW kays needed to be made, she walked with me to the pool and waited while I exchanged the key with him and then took the previous key back to the front desk. Our 2nd excellent customer service event was when I asked about check-out time. We came to Ellensburg for the baptism of our infant grandchild. We wanted to change back into casual clothes before making the 5+ hour trip home. I was concerned we could not get back by 11. She gave us a later checkout. It turned out we were able to check out on time. The staff was excellent. Breakfast was excellent.

My husband said the pool was really chilly. He is used to being in a pool every day for exercise and stretching.

It's a nice, clean hotel with very helpful staff. They were kind to our pet, the location is good. We were there for a family celebration, and we were close to where we needed to be.
