'Tis the season to share the holidays with ALL of your family members! It’s time to start planning your holiday travels, your shopping list, and of course those holiday cards.
These traditional holiday events aren’t just for human family members. A growing number of pet parents are making sure to include the furry, fluffy, and four-legged members as well!
If you want to bring your pup along to this year’s Santa picture, or make sure your kitty has his own stocking on the mantle — you’re not alone! We recently polled pet parents to learn more about how they plan to include their pets this holiday season.
When it comes down to who you want to spend the holidays with, pets obviously rank very high! Eighty-five percent of pet parents plan to spend their holidays with their pets (and sure, human family too!). An equally cool statistic -- 49% of those pet-loving, holiday-sharing parents plan on traveling away from home and bringing their four-legged best friends along for the trip.
Families also plan to include their pets in more than just travels during the holidays. Pets will be a part of many holiday traditions. Nine percent of pet parents polled will bring their pet along to help pick out the Christmas tree, and half of the pet families are making room in their holiday cards this year and including them in the family photo. The traditions don’t end there, with 14% planning on taking their pet along to sit on Santa’s lap to make sure he know just want they want for Christmas this year!
And OF COURSE the family pets will be receiving gifts this year. We know they all made the nice list, so they deserve some gifts of their own! Seventy-five percent of pet parents are making sure their beloved pets are receiving their gifts this year -- and 23% said they would bring their pet along shopping to pet friendly stores!
The holidays are a time to be spent with the whole family. More and more pet loving families know that their pets truly are family and treat them like it! Pets give us love and joy all year, so why not include them during the most love-filled and joyful days of the year?!
