Presidio of San Francisco

The Presidio in San Francisco was once a military post first under Spain, then Mexico and lastly U.S. Serving as an Army post the Presidio played a strategic role both in trade and during military confilicts. There are over 500 historic buildings, a cemetery, a saltwater marsh and even a historic airfield to name a few. There are also miles of hiking areas where you can bring your leashed pup. Pets are not able to go in the buildings however and their leashs should not be longer than six feet.
