Big Cypress National Preserve

Big Cypress National Preserve is the first National Preserve in the National Park System. It features a mixture of mangrove forests, hardwoods, pines, cypress strands and domes. Wildlife such as bears, white-tailed deer and Florida panther can be found here. Leashed dogs are not permitted in the buildings but are allowed in the park. Leashes must not exceed six feet in length and pets are not recommended where wildlife are present or near lakes for their safety.
