However I couldn’t sleep one night because the windows are not fitted correctly and ina eindy night the sound produced by the filtering wind the room was unbearable.
It was only windy for one night, but one sleepless night makes a big difference when you are there only a few nights. I was combining a work visit with a family celebration, thus needed as much energy and sleep for my stay. :(
The staff were helpful (they sent maintenance staff in the middle of the night) but were unable to solve the problem. Nor would they offer any compensation for a sleepless night.

Quite noisy at night even though we were on the 6th floor. Quite a few sirens, people yelling on the street at 1-2 am, a car alarm at 5am (this was a Saturday night and it’s a busy/lively area). Not the hotels fault and we did request a quiet room, but something to be aware of.

Positives:
Loved the room, it was an upgrade that was given to us for our anniversary. The view of the street below was very nice with all of the restaurants and cafes. Centrally located with the Metro close by, we hopped on it and went everywhere. We took the Metro from DCA to the hotel and back. Very easy!

The noise coming from the street. It was an extremely busy area with traffic and emergency vehicles at all hours of the night.

While the location of this hotel is excellent and the images of the rooms and communal areas looked promising, the reality fell far short of expectations. Maintenance appears to be a significant issue here. Upon arrival, I encountered broken blinds and a window in the bathroom that let in both light and a chilly breeze during showers. Despite being shown several alternative rooms, all had damaged blinds and faulty toilets that continued to run water after flushing.
The staff acknowledged the ongoing blind problem, hinting at broader maintenance issues throughout the hotel. Both the bathrooms and bedrooms felt outdated and failed to meet modern standards of luxury. Weak water pressure, insufficient storage space for toiletries, and the inconvenience of a shower without a door were notable drawbacks.
Noise proved to be another major concern, with old windows allowing excessive street noise into the rooms and thin, flimsy doors contributing to corridor noise.
Overall, my experience left much to be desired. Despite its five-star rating, this hotel fell short of expectations, making it one of the most disappointing stays I've had in recent memory. I would not choose to stay here again.
