Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel by APA

Negatives: Very expensive- The rate after parking, pet extra fee and parking was $300 per night. The location is convenient, but unfortunately downtown Edmonton is overrun with homeless and drug addicts, which makes it very unpleasant. Housekeeping service could use improvement. We stayed for five nights and our room was completely cleaned just once. The other days they changed some of the towels and nothing else. This supposed “green schedule” is not adequate for how expensive the rates are. I don’t need my sheets changes every day, but I would like my bed made every day and maybe have the room vaccumed and the bathroom cleaned more than once in five days. We had breakfast in the restaurant just one morning. The food was mediocre and very expensive. I ordered a cup of fruit that never came even though the place was virtually empty.

Negatives: 1. Not the greatest area of edmonton a few blocks away on each side of hotel, but once in the hotel everything is key carded to gain access and you feel the utmost safest you can feel! 2. Also the restaurant was awful! We spent $150.00 on steak dinners for my and my fiancé and one child’s Alfredo and the steak tasted rotten and boiled from frozen! For such a premium price, I would’ve rather went to The Keg! I’d say avoid the restaurant until they get a new chef at all costs!!! (Restaurant isn’t the hotels fault!) 3. I didn’t like how I couldn’t order movies like how it says on the website that would’ve been a bonus but not a necessity! 4. I found out that the parking lot at $25+tax/ a night is also shared/mixed with public parking! Which means if they fill up the parking lot and you prepaid you might have to park down the street! Also it allows riff raff around your vehicles and belongings, but again we didn’t have any issues this is a “what if” or “could happen” situation!

Negatives: They charged me for my room PLUS charged me for a no-show. I booked two rooms and put the second in friends' names. The front desk instead upsold my friends, who checked in 30 minutes later, to the concierge level without telling them and still charged me for the original room. I didn't realize this had happened until I looked online at my credit card transactions. It was very frustrating fixing this as the hotel staff said it was my fault. Ultimately we were both refunded the fraudulent charges.

Negatives: Coffee machine didn’t work to well

Negatives: Elevator hard to use the cards didn’t work all the time and the vending machines didn’t work properly

Negatives: Some things were missing from our room, the pool area didn’t seem very clean

Negatives: Didn't fulfill my special anniversary request even though it was accepted. Lighting was low by the closet mirror Felt overpriced
