The location of the hotel was close to everything downtown making walking easy. Sometimes you were able to find street parking for free. The gym and pool were nice.
Negatives:
The hotel had a very strong smell of curry and the staff were rude. Breakfast was taken away before cut off time even if people were eating. Parking on site was $25.00 plus tax which was a lot.

Positives:
We enjoy the spaciousness of the suite which allows you to spread out more and not feel confined to a single room. The location was excellent for exploring the downtown area of Halifax one note, Halifax is built on a tall hill,with the Citadel at the top, and slopes down to the Harbor. The hotel is at the middle level of that hill, so you will be going up and down steep hills to explore the city.
Negatives:
My major complaint about the hotel is the lack of signage that is visible. All of the signage is in silver on a tan background and is impossible to see. The hotel shares space with a Hampton Inn, but is tucked behind it. The signage on the side of the hotel (on Cogswell St), is hard to see, and easily overlooked. The signage on Brunswick St again is impossible to see. The Hampton Inn sign is visible, but not the Homewood Suites sign. We had to call the hotel to ask where it was, while parked in front of it. Just look for the Hampton Inn.

The location is great, walking distance to the Citadelle, Split Crow and all of the good restaurants on the Board Walk. Good choices for breakfast, hot, cold and fresh fruit. They have social on Wednesday afternoons, you should take advantage of that.

The rooms and services were great, well the carpet in our room could use a good cleaning.

I was charged extra for a view. The view was 85% a 20 story building being constructed. Then each morning the construction workers would start unloading debris down shoots at 7:00am. I paid extra for that!!!!!!

The room was very spacious and comfortable, especially a very large and comfortable bed and a fully equipped kitchenette. We had a bit of delay when checking in, but this little hiccup was perfectly and promptly resolved by the hotel staff; so what could have been a disappointment magically turned into success. I guess the management and the staff deserve a credit. Breakfast was very good. Also we had a wonderful Citadel view!

The swimming pool is just ok. Parking is usually extra.
