We have stayed here before and we were really happy with the cleanliness. During this trip our room was not acceptable but seeing that we arrived around midnight, we were very tired to go downstairs to ask to be moved. There were red pieces of candy around the 2 queen beds and the room was not clean-walls were marked up, just run down. We did mention to the front desk about the room but they said we booked through booking.com so they could not do anything for us but give us some points. I gave the clerk my points number but still waiting for them.

The location, room was quiet & the staff checking me out
Negatives:
The breakfast. The trays were not usable, the eggs sausage were cold, and the toaster did not work. There was another group of four at another table. I heard complaining about the same thing along with the lady not wearing a hairnet and gray straggly hair all over the place.

I definitely would stay again.
Positives:
Free parking and good quality of the personal products in the bathroom. Friendly staff.
Negatives:
1. Old TV. We were forced to flick between a few cable channels. We prefer to stream shows with no ads using our own streaming accounts or by casting from our phones. This will require a smart tv.
2. Bathroom has a barn door rather than a normal fully-closing door, which didnt provide appropriate privacy. And didnt allowed smells to waft into the room.
3. Pillows are too soft. Body Towels are too small.
4. Loud noise from upstairs neighbours from 3:30 to 4:30am prevented us from sleeping. We placed a call to front desk but the noise continued for an hour.
5. Location near highway caused further sleep disruption from loud transport trucks driving through the night.
6. Price was too high for the quality of the room, location and amenities provided. Better hotels in downtown Halifax can be found for less.
