We didn’t stay after all...
Positives:
The location is amazing. Everything is within walking distance. You can walk to the falls in 15 mins. There are many restaurants nearby and I definitely recommend checking some out.
Negatives:
ROOMS: The rooms are not very sound proof and they are very close to each other and I can literally hear someone opening/closing the doors. I can also hear people walking by in the corridor. That room is a nightmare for light sleepers.
SERVICE: TERRIBLE. Where can I begin? The attitude of the staff was appalling.
1. As soon as I arrived, I wanted a glass of water to drink. There was nothing in the room. No water jug, bottles, etc. I had to go back down after my long journey to buy water from reception.
2. I wanted to call room service, but there was no number anywhere. Neither in the room, or on the phone itself. What was the phone for then??? When I asked for the number at the reception, the guy asked me what do I want the number for. Umm, to call for room service??!
3. I went out to dinner and bought dessert back. Again, I went to the reception and asked them if they could send a plate upstairs. The person at the reception said to wait and came back with paper plates and plastic cutlery. Now let me remind you, THIS IS A 4 STAR HOTEL.
4. Read the previous line again. I went for morning breakfast, and lo and behold, the paper plates and plastic cutlery are back at the breakfast buffet. A little sustainability effort would go a long way. This is so much waste generated which is outrageous.
All in all, would never recommend this to anyone I care about. If the hotel is 3 stars and above, I would expect at least water and proper cutlery. Nice attitude would be appreciated, but let's at least strive for bare minimum. :)
