The hotel itself is lovely,...
Positives:
The location is perfect! The whole building is outstanding, feels magical! We were checked in a different room from the one which was previously booked; however, they solved the matter super fast and with no issues. Very educated staff, ready to help! We loved our stay, and recommending the property.
Negatives:
Unique thing I would say is the bathtub/shower. The space is tiny (as we understand as part of the construction style), but our sign indicating cold/hot water was placed upside down on the wall. It took us a call and a staff’s visit to realize that the hot water would come out when the shower tap was pointing to the cold water side.

We had very noisy neighbors who kept us up all night, the heater was making a little squeaky sound and the bed was uncomfortable

Bed was too soft and the valet parking at checkout. Took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our car and we had to complain to get it. The hotel lobby was full of people waiting for their cars.

The rooms are definitely not at a 5 stars hotel, but more as a 3 stars. The soundproofing is bad, they could just change the door to improve it, but the wall remain thin. The bathroom is also bad and old. And the room was not particularly clean. Definitely not a 5 stars hotel or even 4.

I stayed in a junior suite. The hotel's location is excellent, with everything within walking distance. The room was incredibly beautiful, with a stylish and cozy interior. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they helped me carry my bags upstairs.
Negatives:
However, for the price, I expected the minibar to be included, as it often is in hotels of this level. Additionally, I was surprised that while there was water in the room, the amount provided was still limited. It would have been more convenient if there had been more water available, as it's a basic expectation in any hotel. I stayed in a different hotel in Ottawa for a lower price, and the minibar was included. It would also have been nice if the bathrobes had been ironed, as attention to such details reflects the quality of service and is important for the hotel's reputation. This was a bit disappointing.

Perfect location just steps from main attractions
The room was a good room, specious, clean, and comfortable beds.
The hotel has a gym and a pool
The place was stunningly decorated for the holidays. There is so much to do just inside the hotel: a restaurant, a bar, a coffee place, the gym, the pool, the Elf pub. We had our Christmas dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and we also had a drink at the Elf Pub and both were very nice experiences
Negatives:
Personally I am not a fan of the decor, but again it is personal.
No smat tv and if we wanted to watch a movie we were asked to pay over $20.
Breakfast was not included in the price. We did not try the buffet as we thought it was too expensive and optted for coffee at the coffee shop inside the hotel
The gym and the pool are in the basement and the gym has carpet floor and it is not very well equipped
As I said, the hotel is so well decorated for the holidays, but this also resulted in so so many people in the lobby taking pictures at all times. It was overwhelming at all times. And I think that's why the front desk did not tell us anything about the hotel services, they were also too busy.

Positives:
The location was great for us as needed to be downtown for an early appointment on Jan 2. Buffet breakfast was amazing value too for the price and bed was perfect for a good night sleep.
Negatives:
The rooms were so dusty and poorly cleaned, had no power outlets, robes or slippers or bathroom extra toiletries (eg. Q-tips, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.) that we have been used to for a five star hotel. Coffee machine was not working and the TV remote was so poor it was hard to even flip channels. Also the walls are paper thin and we could hear the neighbours and kids late at night plus lots of noise in the hallways. For $350 for the night it was horrible value for the price even more so given we did not arrive until 7:30pm to check in.
