Positives: I liked the valet service, the restaurant located at the hotel, and the fact that you could walk somewhere without putting on a coat. Also, I liked that the hotel was clean.
Negatives: When I checked in, the staff looked busy. When I tried asking for help, they dismissed everything and were rude to me. Also, the check-in was too fast. No one explained where or when the breakfast would be, where the gym/pool was, the hours of operation, and how to park a car. For a hotel like this, I was hoping that it would be more customer-friendly. Also, some people might cut you off if you don't speak French and people working at the reception will not pay attention to you. In addition, closet doors were broken, bed was making a squeaky noise, so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Also, we got a room with a view, but I was hoping to get a better view. Also, they have a messenger service where you can ask for help using phone texting, but no one replied to me when I tried asking for any advice. This was my first time in the city and I was hoping staff at the hotel would be more helpful.

Positives: The room was decent. The room was cozy and the included breakfast was great value. It was tasty. The lobby looked nice.
Negatives: The room was dark and a bit dusty. They didn't do a proper job cleaning the carpet. I contacted the reception using the "texting" app but they only awnsered 50 minutes later, and when I asked for the water of bottles they did not send it. The staff was quite friendly tho, but I wouldn't say it was a professional staff. The "level of politeness" was not on part with high end hotels.

Negatives: I booked a room with two beds as I was staying with my adult son. I booked 6 weeks before our trip. After booking and paying with booking.com, I recd a message that you would ‘do your best to accommodate two rooms’. I wrote back to booking.com the same day to insist, and recd a response ‘well noted’. Unfortunately when I arrived at the hotel after a full day of traveling, there was no room with two beds. So they put us in a room with one bed and a sofa bed, which was uncomfortable. There is a disconnect between booking.com and the hotel, and it was clear from the staff that they deprioritize bookings made with booking.com, and do not take responsibility for them. If there was not a room with two beds when I booked, this should have been made clear to me and I would have booked in another hotel. I will not use booking.com again, and I will not stay in the intercontinental again.
