Place was a bit creepy overall - dark hallways, exterior was old looking and in need of some rehab (insides of rooms appeared to have been reno'd recently and were actually pretty nice except for the previous slider windows above the patio doors that were painted shut or permanently looked shut), pool area had a bunch of old fire pits or gas cook stoves that maybe were once part of the Japanese Restaurant next door that added clutter to the pool deck area, pool loungers and furnishings needed some upgrades - nice clean pool though with a 12 foot deep end - you don't see that too often. We didn't particularly like the NO onsite staff thing, however once we figured out how to get in the parking gate and use the QR code to get in the room, I guess that wasn't too bad. Texting the offsite staff was generally quick and effective.

It's in a great spot. The room was excellent with a great view over Hollywood, a balcony and secure parking.
Negatives:
The check-in process was a nightmare for us. There's no reception so it is all done online and we had major problems getting the validation code to check-in. Part of the problem was that we couldn't make phone calls because we came from Australia and only had data access. From the outside the property has seen better days but the room itself was good.

loved this hotel and will definitely be back! i truly don't think there was a better hotel with this view since it's the only one on a hill and with a balcony. very quiet, comfortable, and nice looking room. staff brought most things we asked, but missed some things. was pretty clean overall. big room with places to put all your stuff, large and very comfortable bed, nice small kitchen, good size bathroom, good lighting, large balcony with chairs, dark curtains. hollywood walk of fame very close by. downtown, rodeo drive, hollywood sign, etc. only short drives away. a lot of food options around the area. very quiet property since it's not right by a main road and didn't even hear anyone else in the hotel. wifi worked good.
Negatives:
the room did have a smell probably from the old furniture and some stains on the rug. couldn't see the hollywood sign from our room 305, but could see it if we walked to the left outside near the stairs., still a great view from the room though.

The View was simply amazing. The kitchenette was a bonus. The bed was comfortable.
Negatives:
The Parking was difficult. Cars that did not park well blocked the only path to drive out of the facility. The lighting next to the bed was not regular. The lighting kept going on and off and dimming. There were no staff on site. Also, the pool was very old and in need of repair.

The way it was no contact all online even the room key was pretty awesome! The rooms are really good size! It is fairly clean, but I am extra. So take my Review how you see fit. It was clean to a regular person, but to me there were stains on the couches & on the carpet. Second the tub was peeling off, it was clean don't get me wrong but the peeling is something I couldn't deal with. Also, if you're not alone send the code to the other person incase you run out of battery!!! They were so kind I was able to text them from my husband's cell phone to be able to get in at 1 AM so that's a SUPER PLUS!!! The restaurant next door is Great too!!! If you want to continue the party same location is the Hookah Lounge Yama Shisha literally next door same spot as the restaurant Yamashiro. The View is amazing!!!! worth it if your looking just to sleep & get ready.

No soap in bathroom and unable to get any. No screens on sliding glass doors so unable to have doors open due to mosquitoes. I wasn’t notified that Hotel was unable to read my drivers license prior to arrival so I had difficulty getting into the lot and into my room. Fortunately able to reach a helpful staff member.

The view from the deck in the room is amazing. The room is nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. The little café in front of Yash heroes is wonderful wonderful.
Negatives:
The property inside and out is tired and he’s upgrading. There is a lot of stairs between the parking and the room with no option for help. It would be nice to have access to the Yashiro Gardens.
