Hopefully this was a one-off, but it took 45 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. We were told that the shuttle and driver had disappeared and the manager had to call a sister property to send their shuttle! Going back to the airport was almost instant.

The breakfast was really good. There were a lot of different and really tasty options. The kids loved the waffels. We had a nice evening at the bar. It was an ideal place to meet our family in Irvine.

I would have prefered real plates and cups instead of making a lot of trash. But thats a common problem in the US.

BACON WAS EXTRA GREASY AND DIDN'T TASTE LIKE BACON.!! THE OATMEAL WAS SOUPY. TOO MUCH WATER SITTING ON TOP. THAT'S ALL I HAD. $28 FOR PARKING IS OUTRAGEOUS! I USED TO FLY 3-5 DAYS PER WEEK FOR MY WORK. STAYED IN DOZENS OF HAMPTON INNS ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN MAJOR METROPOLITAN CITIES AT THE AIRPORT. NONE OF THEM CHARGED FOR PARKING!! THE ONLY HAMPTON INN I AM AWARE OF THAT CHARGES FOR PARKING IS YOUR FACILITY AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT ON DUPONT DRIVE!

I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The location was very close to the airport which was nice. I didnt get to explore the hotel as much but I enjoyed the interior design. My room was clean and spacious. I appreciate the mini market with snacks and refreshments. Expanding that area would be nice.
Negatives:
I didn't like that the pick up from the airport shuttle service didn't have a schedule. I called for a pick up and I sat waiting in the shuttle area for 45 minutes. I end up taking a taxi wasting time and money.
