The room was spacious and clean, we stayed as a family of 3 and had a great time. The staff we interacted with were great, friendly, polite and helpful. There was a huge choice at breakfast for 2 adults and a fussy child, overall a really great stay and a lovely hotel. We didn't use the restaurant downstairs mostly because we're vegetarian but did find a great vegan cafe just down the block for dinner.
Negatives:
Nothing at all to fault at the hotel, it was really great. I do wish I'd researched a bit more on the area- we were mostly sightseeing with a child but were quite a journey from the zoo and other locations we wanted to go to so a lot of our day was taken up with public transport (with a stop 2 blocks over this was easy enough though). Close to the cove and children's pool we got to enjoy a lot of la Jolla wildlife which made up for it, but I would probably choose somewhere more central if travelling with the aim of seeing the city and entertaining children. I appreciate this is not any fault of the hotel though and completely down to my own research, just a mention for anyone else in a similar situation to us.

Clean, bed was comfortable. Room was stuffy and warmer than we like. Don't think ac was working fully. Location was good. We enjoyed our stay and I would say hotel is fine. I probably wouldn't stay there again but I also don't have a lot of negative, other than the unexpected charges. Restaurants in the area are great! Never had a bad meal.
Negatives:
Price charged was almost $60 more than quoted when booked. When I questioned the property the response was "must have been a glitch" that was only quoted for 1day extra fee, instead that fee that was supposed to be daily charge. "Sorry". Also think it is farther than 500 steps from beach as advertised, but that's okay, still pretty close. Breakfast is typical hotel Breakfast. Not great. Needs more fruit options.

Great location close to a fabulous little outdoor restaurant around the corner and its own elegant one inside with just a block or so away from the main strip shopping core. In walking distance to the San Diego Contemporary Art Gallery and perfect distance for a stroll down to the shore. Waffles and coffee delicious and good quality. Comfortable nice rooms and spotless.

Overall no complaints. We all loved it and would stay here again. If I had to be picky it didn’t have a pool and I wish they had fresh baked items vs defrosted…

The staff were absolutely lovely. Rooms were spacious, walking distance to restaurants and supermarket, breakfast was good and kids loved the complimentary cookies each day and they were delicious. Also the cold water at reception was very much appreciated too. Also the fact we could do some washing on site was great.

Gym was very small but still better than nothing.

My family loved it! Great location, its a five minute walk to the beach and rooms are very clean! We enjoyed the free breakfast! Petfriendly! Best place we stayed in! I will definitely stay here next time. They have great people who work there especially the front desk and valet!
