Negatives: Bed bug infestation! I got over 70 bed bug bites over a few days in this hotel. They gave me another room on the other side of the hotel and I got bitten there as well. - I have never had a previous bed bug experience so I did not really know what it was and how bad they were. Until I went to an urgent care and the doctor said I looked horrible and that I developed secondary infections. He suggested to leave the hotel immediatelly (which I did) are request a full refund. He said that bed bug infestation is a big public health risk. - When I left the hotel I asked for the refund. The stuff said they could not do it by themselves but that I should call their manager next day and that he will process the refund. I was a litte bit suspicious already but the staff ensured me that they will refund, it is just that only the manager can process a full refund. - When I called next day the manager was not willing to process the refund. He claimed internal procedures (?), and they they need to wait for a company to disinfect the room. When I asked him what does the disinfection have to do with processing the refund he said that nothing but still refused to process the refund and even provide a timeline for processing it. Eventually he told me he was busy and that he would call me back but he never did. - In this situation when I got so many bites and an intection from them, as supported by a written report from the doctor, this behavious was hard to believe. - I went to the County immediatelly and submitted a formal complaint. Now I am awaiting a follow up call from the environmental health inspector before his facility inspection. The county clerk said that bed bug infestation is a significant health risk and they might even order the facility to be closed until the problem is rectified.
