Hotel was clean and modern. It was in a great location walkable to many shopping areas and a 10 min walk to the civic center
Negatives:
The elevator is small and can only accommodate 4 people max with luggage or bags. The air conditioning in our room was being worked on but the hotel staff brought in fans and also made an adjustment to our resort fees for covering the expense.
Positives:
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and the bed comfortable. It is very well situated for the BART and metro being right next to Powel Station
Negatives:
The room lighting was a bit too subdued and with the dark floors made the room a little unwelcoming. The shower controls were not clearly marked and not totally intuitive.

Arrived a bit confused as to whether I had already paid or not. The man on reception spoke very rapidly about taxes and resort fees etc and suddenly my credit card was over its limit. I hadn’t paid but the extra daily amount (resort fee) suddenly put my quoted price from Booking.com and my AUS conversion way out. I am at the end of my trip so I was paying close attention to my expenses. I understand about the taxes and resorts fees but often a hotel will just take a CC imprint to secure any extras. In this case the hotel took the money. I wonder how long it will take for the money to be back in my account.
