Breakfast room was way too hot, juices machine was broken and juices they mixed were too watered down. Staff is not friendly as I have had at other hotels. Location kind of sucks. Saw homeless people getting high close to the entrance of the hotel. For the price paid it was ok.

Friendlier staff. Hotel staff always makes a difference in the stay.

The hotel is in a convenient location, close to Powell Street and its transportation connections - BART, Muni Metro, Streetcars & Cable Cars. Comfortable large bed.
Negatives:
The breakfast was disappointing. The cooked food was not freshly cooked - the omelette was like rubber and the potatoes were very dry. According to Booking.com I was getting a free breakfast from being a "Genius". However, it appeared that breakfast was included for all guests anyway. I understood that a refundable damage deposit of $75 was payable. However, it wasn't made clear by Booking.com that this was PER NIGHT! Anyway, the hotel refunded my deposit within an hour of my checking out, so thank you.
