Good location. Felt safe locally. Front office staff helpful and polite. Their initial idea of a twin room was a 'suite' that included a single bed and a soda bed (that looked like a crime scene) and no linen.. that said when we raised it they immediately moved the kids to a nice twin room.

We had a one bedroom suite on the high floors with two big kids sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. It was very roomy with a lot of storing space. It was very pleasant with a lot natural light. For the evening the lightning is both comfy and efficient, two qualities not often present together. The furnitures are nice and overall I would say the room was very nice. Even with the sofa bed open, it is large enough to move around and use the table in the living room to eat, which can come in handy.
Negatives:
There is nothing in the room to make a cup of coffee or tea. For a 4 star hotel, this is very surprising and unpleasant. They make up for this by offering coffee in the morning in the lobby. It is better than nothing but it would be much better and quite simple to add a coffee machine in every room.
As for the neighborhood, it is very handy and I never felt frightened but I would advise to always leave the hotel going north or west. Going east towards tenderloin or south especially south of market towards 6th and 7th is a whole different story and I would advise not do so, especially at night. Setting off at Powell st station is much better than at mc Alister after 8pm

The receptionist that greeted us that night was not friendly at all. John made it up to us by giving us some information and giving us a better room.
The hotel is close to the homeless street not their fault. The toilet was too close to the toilet paper holder. A sliding door instead of a door should be installed in the bathroom.
When turning on the shower You always have to get some cold water before getting to the hot water.
