Positives:
The location is convenient to/from San Jose Airport. The area feels safe and is surrounded with many options to eat. It's located in the same block of City Civic auditorium. You have a metro/street car station crossing the street.
Negatives:
The disadvantages is what makes it a excellent option, because as it's located close to the airport and the metro/street car station, you can hear the noises at night.

the hotel was the right level of formal and relaxed, loved the gym and being able to go outside for a run by the river, good breakfast and Friday muffins out of this world
Negatives:
parking is too expensive, would expect to pay less than $20 per night as a guest and have some time of multi-day deal, we plan to return next year but the parking is an issue

The rooms smelled musty from the odor from the bathroom drain. The bathrooms were outdated and desperately need a refresh. The beds were not comfortable and squeaked every time someone moved. The walls were very thin and you could hear your neighbors entire conversation.

The tub was clogged and we told the clean lady and front desk twice, it was not fixed and the tub wasn’t draining until we were there.
The beds are not queen size. Much smaller and hard for 2 people to sleep on it.

I would try other hotels...
Positives:
The warm breakfast was healthy, and the room was really comfortable. I arrived after a long, beautiful Amtrak train journey from Oregon and asked if I could leave my luggage before checking in later in the afternoon. But the staff member on that Friday morning was really helpful: she looked for an already empty room and offered me this as an alternative to my booking. Really appreciated as it was a strangely windy and cold day for San Jose! There was some good food nearby at San Pedro Square.

The place was really clean and nice. The Check in process was easy and fast and the parking garage was very safe and very clean.
Negatives:
The TV in the room was super complicated it didn't have regular TV that we could find, we had to use chrome cast and it was ok. The chef was sick so there was no food options and the bar closed before we could get back from the game at 10:30 on a Saturday night.

Breakfast was excellent. Just what I expect of Hyatt.
Negatives:
Absolutely did not like the bathroom door as a slider. It did not lock for privacy. Stayed in another hotel that had the same set up, only it was glass and partially see through. The Hyatt bathroom not nearly as bad, but still doesn’t offer enough privacy. That being said, now that I know, I’ll be prepared to reserve two rooms next time.
