Positives: Presentation on website I booked a 3-night stay at this hotel specifically for its "ocean view," which was prominently advertised on the website. Its location was ideal for me due to daily appointments in Pacific Palisades, making the commute from the hotel very convenient. However, I soon discovered that the experience was disappointingly superficial. It began with the manager, (I think she was) who seemed more focused on greeting valley luxury cars and visitors than attending to every guests. I rented a Nissan Altima and was surprised to find no self-parking available. 70 dollars very added to my bill daily. The lady in charge greeted me poorly, and I observed her offering complimentary wine to other guests but not to me, until I raised the issue with her. Upon entering my room, I was dismayed to find that my "ocean view" was obstructed by construction occurring on the rooftop of a nearby building. My view from the 6th floor suddenly became depressing. I believe they should have provided a discount for this misrepresentation or at least informed guests about the ongoing construction in front of what they advertise an expensive room. Additionally, I was taken aback by the outdated and mismatched toilet lid in the room, which did not fit with the rest of the remodeling. It seemed like an oversight they forgot to address. I couldn’t use the closet because of the very old odor coming out (even though it was painted) I found it surprising that there was no hair dryer available (I had to request one), and NOTABLY there was no coffee maker—a first for me in any hotel stay! Instead, they had an abundance of every type of alcohol imaginable stocked. During check-out, I raised these concerns with the front desk, but received no offer of accommodation or indication that they knew how to handle such complaints. Furthermore, the area was filled with homeless individuals and had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of urine all around.
