Positives:
The location of Cavallo Point is unmatched. As promised, we got a room with a “partial” view of the GG bridge. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We had dinner one night at the restaurant on the property (just burgers) which was nice.

Ok, so this is why I gave just an average review:
This place is MASSIVE! Locating our room was very similar to finding one’s way out of a cornstalk maze. Just sayin’.
The second ding was that guests are promised coffee and pastries in the morning (self-serve). When we got there at 9:00 am, there were only dregs left in the coffee pot, no cream and only a few dried out croissants. A guest asked if there would be more coffee coming and she was told that “yeah, we can make more but it’s gonna take about 10 minutes.”
The third—and by far the most important—ding was the acoustics in the room. The first night was great. On the second and third nights, we were subjected to a pack of wildebeests running wild on the floor directly above us. Of course one expects a little noise in a hotel, i.e. a door slamming, dropping something on the floor, etc, but this was not that. This was an out-of-control child wreaking havoc. Not cool.

Nothing but the dinner service was a bit slow and didn't top up our wine and the various taxes were unexpected and material. However the bar staff were great especially Erdem who made great cocktails and was very engaging and great fun. A real asset
