Positives: The location is perfect for a nice getaway! We have visited LA during weekdays and it was ideal, because of the promixity of the city's most highlights. It was just a few minutes away from the highway connecting Santa Monica or Venice Beach. Still a nice area, calm with some restaurants nearby.

Negatives: Hampton Inn & Suites by HILTON at Sherman Oaks scammed me. I made reservation for my family on Booking.com. Hampton sent a welcome letter saying they are waiting for us at the hotel and total price is $693 three days beofre we arrived. When we showed up at the hotel, they asked for my reservation and my credit card to check us in. Everything went smoothly until later I found out they charged me $2,557 for our stay. I immediately asked Mr. Sameh, the hotel manager, and he said that my booking was wrong due to their system errors. The correct price is $2,557, not $693. I asked him if errors then why Hampton sent me a welcome letter 3 days ago and the letter clearly shows total is $693 but did not mention about the errors. Then why Hampton did not contact me before my arrival to correct it so that I can arrange my family to stay elsewhere based on my budget. And why he did not tell me about the increased charge at the time he checked me in. Mr. Sameh was not able to answer all my questions. He was very rude and unprofessional to jump in and cut me off whenever I wanted to ask or explain. All he did was just saying that there were system errors and Hampton cannot lose money and they have to increase the price. Dear Hampton at Sherman Oak, it is not the way you guys are doing business in the U.S. You can not either cancel guest reservation at the time they check in ( like you did to Mr. Gonon from France ) or secretly overcharged me at the time I checked in without letting me know. No way you can do that to your guests. If system errors happened, then you should contact guests before they arrive. If you did not do anything and when guests show up, you must honor their reservation. I filed dispute to my credit card and get refund the difference due to Hampton unethical business practice they have done to me and others.

They gave us the suite 207 of which was a nice room but with the handicap restroom and the AC. was extremely loud all night,I called the front desk to tell them if they could help but they said it late night now,they didn’t want to bother the guest which was me and my boyfriend so if their AC sounds bothering us to the point of calling them…then why would they think that they would bothering us when we already have been bothered.
