It had a good view of the cityscape

Room was very small. Simple things like having to jiggle the handle on the toilet to make it stop running, the AC not working and spending 20 minutes trying to find the sweet spot in the shower between scalding and freezing. I would expect these types of inconveniences from a motel 6, not from a “luxury” hotel. And the “nickel and diming” was beyond scope. Starting with 70 dollars a night to park your car as well as a 200 dollar a night resort fee. Which isn’t mentioned anywhere, you get that sprung on you when you check in.

Eventhough I paid the full amount for the reservation (non-refundable) I had to pay an extra $1000 “refundable deposit” on arrival. At checkout I was advised my $1000 will be returned to my account however I was incorrectly charged for valet parking for 9 nights at $68 a night. Tried to resolve this by email but to no success. Raised this with my bank and is still ongoing.

It was a wonderful hotel, the personnel was great, the room was super and spacious with bid twin beds!!!
The skybar didn’t make the noise that mentioned at the critics of the hotel.
I had second thoughts for choosing this hotel because of 7.3 at Booking but surprisingly for me this a 9+ hotel.
I am expecting receiving the accidental that I paid at the check in!!!

Mondrian is back ! This hotel is a landmark, and with Covid, it had really gone down hill. But it is defenetly back ! Including a gorgeous new restaurant stretching half in and half outside, on the pool area.
This new restaurant includes a very nice patio bar, more upstream and "calmer" than the Skybar.
Yes it is still a party hotel, yes crowds have changed, or maybe I am just getting older.
But so great to see Mondrian back on track.

Our room was consistently disrupted by other guests (understand this is difficult for the hotel staff to manage) - doorbell was rung at 1am, music played loudly in surrounding rooms in the early hours of the morning, etc.
