Positives: Location was excellent, staff were great and onsite restaurant was delicious.
Negatives: The hotel is VERY high tech - bathroom has a bidet-integrated toilet, there is a TV screen embedded in the bathroom mirror, all lights turn “on” and “off” via buttons by the beds and entryway and solar shades / blackout shades are operated by controls. The hotel provides a bookmark sized explanation sheet as to how everything operates - which was great. Except for the bathroom area. It took me 15 minutes (literally) of fumbling around in the dark to find the switches that operate the bathroom lights (I checked in after dark) because the buttons that operate the bathroom lights are “hidden” (not visible) behind a portable magnification mirror. When I checked out the young woman behind the desk asked me about my stay and I jokingly and with a smile said, “Great, once I found the bathroom lights”. She laughed and said, “I understand! They are hidden behind the mirror. We should just put the mirror on the other side of the sink!” Ummmm…. YES. You should. Especially as it appears to be a known issue. Would have been a 10-star visit but for the annoyance of having to use the restroom in the pitch black when I first arrived.

Negatives: Rooms are a bit run down and need some better maintenance/refurbishment. Very bad soundproofing between adjoining rooms. I could hear everything (including snoring) from the next door room!

Negatives: We were assigned a 1st floor room overlooking the carpark. It was dark as we had to keep the privacy shades down. It was also a communicating room and not private at all.

Positives: I recently stayed at the The J House Greenwich Hotel for a Labor Day weekend staycation and, unfortunately, I was not impressed with the room. The hotel, which is supposed to be a high-end boutique, seems to be showing signs of wear and tear. The room itself was muggy, the blinds were dusty, and I found hairs on the bottom layer of the comforter, which made it hard to sleep. Though my husband didn't want me to complain since we were only staying one night, it really detracted from the experience. On the plus side, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated. The massages at the spa were a highlight—easily a 10/10. However, the spa itself is very small, so keep that in mind if you're expecting more space. Breakfast was another disappointment. The continental breakfast was underwhelming, and the dining area tables were dirty, so we ended up sitting in the lobby to eat. The restaurant was overpriced for what it offered, and the food was nothing to write home about. Overall, I would return just for the spa experience, but I wouldn't stay overnight again.
