Negatives: I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Washington DC - Convention Center, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is excellent, making it easy to access various attractions and transport options in the area. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, but unfortunately, I had trouble sleeping due to the excessive noise. The walls seem thin, and noise from outside or the hallways made it difficult to get a restful night. However, the most disappointing aspect of my stay was the staff. Honestly, they were the worst I’ve encountered in my 25 years of traveling. The front desk staff was rude, impolite, and unhelpful. When I asked for assistance or any simple request, they didn’t listen or respond properly. One time, I called the front desk and the person on the other end hung up on me before I could even finish my question. On check-out day, the woman at the front desk was visibly upset when I requested a printed receipt, and her attitude was unprofessional. Another downside was the breakfast. It was lacking in variety and choices, with no cheese available at all. The breakfast area was also far too small for the number of guests staying at the hotel. There was barely enough seating for 40 people, while the hotel likely had 300 to 400 guests at the time. Overall, the location was great, but the poor staff and subpar breakfast really detracted from the experience. Based on this stay, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Positives: Location, breakfast was excellent, coffee available at all times, valet services were prompt, elevator was fast, room was very clean.
Negatives: I had a robe that apparently got mixed in with some towels that was hanging on the same hook and I think it got taken with the towels (it was white). We were leaving before housekeeping came in so I did not get to speak with them about it. It is no great loss but just an inconvenience.

Positives: The room was big and comfortable. However, I was reluctantly given an upgrade after they couldn't provide me with the room type I originally booked for (executive king). Great location to walk around town. My room had a little fridge and microwave, which are always helpful if travelling with kids.
Negatives: The staff are really unhelpful and not very friendly. As an Australian, I'm usually overwhelmed with how helpful and friendly American staff are at hotels, restaurants etc. but not at this hotel, they really let down the overall experience. Breakfast was awful, they have a mix of hot and cold options, I stuck to cereal and toast and the cooked food options were terrible.
