Hotel Madera

Negatives: Stayed 2 nights. At 11pm the first night there was no hot water left to shower in. This is unacceptable for such a hotel and for the price we paid. Other than "sorry" no compensation was offered. The room was far from sound proof. You can hear the loud city noises and sirens through the night even on a higher floor. At 8am you hear the cleaning crew vacuuming right outside your door. Also the blackout curtains have no overlap, so the eastern facing rooms get direct sunlight through the gaps.

Negatives: Bathroom door was sliding heavily. Restaurant a bit underwhelming.

Negatives: Parking

Negatives: Poorly trained staff, broken elevator, noisy aircon, broken water fountains, super slow WiFi.

Negatives: Our mattresses were very uncomfortable. We really expected a better quality mattress for a great nights sleep. I like a medium to firm mattress but these are very hard.

Negatives: A little farther away from the things we wanted to do but otherwise it was easy to get around. Had some issues with a staff member who wasn’t super pleasant but otherwise most of the employees we encountered went above and beyond

Negatives: We only stayed for 3 nights. , wish a bit longer.

Negatives: When I entered the room upon check in, the room had this overwhelming scent of room fragrance to mask the smell of previous guest’s smoking. I am highly allergic to this type of smoke so I could detect immediately and it took good full day for the smell to subside: Good thing is that we had a balcony room so we could air out the room a bit more but due to the heat not for too long! Although the room itself was clean, we had issues at night being bitten by either bed bugs or flea all over the chest and some on our legs. We figured it was the duvet cover so we didn’t use it the next day and sprayed the surrounding of the bed with flea and tick spray as well as the sofas as I was getting bites on my arms. I did find some small bugs /black sesame seed size here and there so hotel should do some deep cleaning on carpets and sofa. Faded Stains on sofa and the chair by the desk did it make me feel comfortable. And one point during the day the bed was also shaking and I could hear the whizzing sound as if there was a washer dryer underneath our floor but that wasn’t the case as the staff explained to me it’s all in the basement. We never had this issue when we stayed previously it was always easy pleasant and great so what happened?

Negatives: The lack of amenities for a 4 star facility with a price that seemed over valued.
