Horrible experience. I had a confirmed reservation but when we arrived the desk clerk said it was not in the system. I had a copy of my Booking.com confirmation. He said that was Booking.com's fault. I reserved this room 6 weeks in advance! There is a "gentlemen's club" next door. I suspect the clerk gave my reserved room away to a higher bidder. the clerk was very weird and not helpful at all. He blamed it all on Booking.com. Please take this hotel off your site. I am very unhappy about this. We were very tired after a long drive and had to look for another hotel room in downtown DC.

We like the proximity to the Metro (McPherson Station).
Negatives:
Two mornings in a row we were woken up around 4:30 with the sound of drilling and trucks being backed up. We thought the drilling sounded like it was internal and the sound reverberating through the wall or something because it wasn't the sound of hearing it going on outside the window. Were on the 9th floor along the back or side where there was an alley so the truck sounds likely could not have been fixed by the hotel. The breakfast is supposed to have been "upgraded" which is why it doesn't come standard now, but we noticed no difference from the items we saw when we stayed there a few years ago and would NOT have paid additional money for it. We specifically booked here because the free breakfast makes it easier when traveling with our kids. We booked just after they made the change (based on what they told us) and on booking.com it said breakfast included which we showed the front desk within our confirmation, but they were very reluctant to comp us stating "this is why you should not use third party sites" instead of acknowledging it was an issue between them and booking.com and due to that, they would just comp it. It was a little problematic that the bathroom door is just frosted glass when you want to get up before the kids to shower/get ready and the light shines right out (and in our room, onto the mirror on the wall opposite the beds). Standard doors would be better for that. Overall, the stay was fine, but I don't think we will bother staying here again based on this stay.

The place is fairly tired decor and condition wise. I also paid for a larger room through booking.com, but that wasn't the room I was given. The room was pretty uninspiring. Some of the folk at the front of house were good, others were a bit lacklustre.

The staff stood out the most. The staff all seemed happy and were so polite and ready to serve or talk to guests. I was so impressed I talked to the manager because I have been all over the world and this staff was one of if not the best we have ever had.
I loved the location in walking distance to everything we wanted to see and close enough to the metro if we needed it.
The breakfast again was one of the best! so many choices and each choice was delicious.
Seriously one if the next places we have ever stayed.
