Excellent location, exceptional cleanness but staff could be nicer.

Please be aware that even though you book your stay WITH BREAKFAST you only get $80 credit PER ROOM to use it in their local restaurant. When arrived at the front desk I was provided with that information. It's good they told us before (we traveled a party of 7, 2 rooms). The only problem is - salmon sandwich costs $26, tea $7, coffee $8. If you'd like to have a sandwich and a tea it means you spend almost half of your credit. We always went beyond that point so at the end we had to paid remaining balance. Not fair if you think you took care of the breakfast when you book your stay WITH BREAKFAST. The right thing is to say you are booking your stay with a LIMITED breakfast. Staff is a little uptight. Valet Parking $65/car/night (very expensive but I get it it's Washington D.C.). Location is excellent. Rooms were super clean.

It was clean and the valet service was good. The apple cider and coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. The location is excellent. I recommend getting a room with a river view.
Negatives:
For a luxury hotel, there are literally no bells and whistles. And the front desk service is mid. We were there for a milestone anniversary, and it was not acknowledged.
