Positives:
Rooms are well decorated and comfortable.
Negatives:
I was double-charged for overnight valet parking. When I caught the error I called the hotel about it. They didn’t seem surprised nor were they apologetic about it. They also didn’t offer anything beyond simply refunding the erroneous charges.
I like this hotel a lot but this left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Look Over Your Bill Closely...
Positives:
Good location - neighborhood is really interesting, lots of good places to eat within easy walking distance; also, not far from all the touristy stuff - Mall, White House, etc.
Negatives:
No cold, or even cool, water. It was really hot when we were there and I was sweating buckets. Come back to the hotel dying of thirst after a long day of walking/riding bikes around the city and there's no cold water - had to go across the street to CVS and buy it. Ridiculous.

Positives:
We really loved the space and the coffee bar as well as the well-appointed room. When we checked in we discovered that the door lock wasn't working, but a service technician arrived immediately after we reported the issue and quickly fixed it. Lots of great options for dining and drinks in the area, well served by bus and nearby metro, and walkable to the zoo. I would definitely stay here again!
Negatives:
There was a wedding event the first night so we were unable to dine in the hotel restaurant and another event on the mezzanine the second night, which made it much noisier, but we appreciated the lively atmosphere, so it wasn't a big drawback.

The location, the room and the bar were the highlights. There was an umbrella in the room which was handy - even though we didn’t end up using it. The coffee machine in the room was nice to have.
Negatives:
Breakfast choices were average and pricey and seating choices were difficult. The bathroom (floors) were quite badly scuffed and needed to be cleaned better.

Positives:
The room we had was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Even though the floors were mostly hard wood, we were given very comfortable slippers to walk on them. We were there for three nights, and on one day our room was not serviced: however, when we brought this to the attention of the person at the front desk, they were willing to deduct the daily amenities fee from our final bill. The minibar fridge had lots of extra room to store my iced tea and a bottle of wine.
Negatives:
The shower water temperature was easy to adjust, but the water pressure was not always very good. In order to get ice for our in-room drinks, we went to the bar on the first floor. We could have gotten room service, but it would have been more convenient to have an ice machine on our floor.

Lovely location for nightlife. Nice common area bar for hanging out and meeting friends. Space can be taken over by weddings though making it difficult to use.

Staff were totally disinterested and rooms not very sound proof.

Great location, clean facilities.

We were placed in a room that was facing towards the other restaurants and retail shops on the block. There was no issue until it became the long weekend and the hookah bar rooftop turned into a strip club - the rooftop is basically the same level of our room and just 15 feet away. The music and noise was EXTREMELY loud and disturbing.
The other issue was the cleaning people would just unlock the door and walk in while we were still sleeping in bed. It was very awkward. I would understand if it late morning but it was early like 9am and checkout is 12pm anyways.

Positives:
The room was really spacious compared to other hotels in DC or new, trendy hotels which often have tiny hotel rooms with minimal closet space. It also was light and airy in design. The bed was very comfortable. We liked the bar/lounge located in the attached renovated old church for afternoon cocktails or coffees. Fun place to stay.
