Spacious room
Positives:
Size of the room (we had the two queen studio), location (just a couple blocks from metro, lots of good restaurants nearby).
Negatives:
Price paid through booking explicitly states you are paying the $35/day amenity fee, but you have to fight tooth and nail at check in not to be charged for it. We were told if we didn’t pay we wouldn’t have access to amenities, and sure enough they didn’t honor the $15/day food/drink credit. This after we were able to show them the booking receipt that lists the $35/day amenity fee as being included in the price paid. I also had a package delivered to the property and was told it would be available at check in (it had been delivered a few days early), but my husband had to spend about 20 minutes trying to convince the front desk staff to keep looking for my package. He finally got some help from the doorman (who he had already tipped well) to find the package. The whole thing just felt shady

Nice place, kind of shady
Positives:
room decor, location, lobby
Negatives:
The room was overly warm - even after an Engineer was sent to look into the problem. He arrived right away, which we appreciated. The fix was temporary, however, and unsuccessful.

I would stay here again!
Positives:
Room size and location were very good. The employees during the check-in were very polite. And they shared snack with us.
Negatives:
Breakfast should be more possible and even open buffet. In addition, stuff at the reception in the morning should be more friendly and helpful.

Very good
Positives:
I was in DC for an event close to the hotel so the location was very convenient.
Negatives:
It’s not a resort so I didn’t think a resort fee was appropriate.

Served my purpose
Positives:
Great location and lots of things to do in Dupont
Negatives:
There are several fees that you dont find out about until after you are booked in like an amenity fee and it says parking is available but it $60 a night which is outrageous. I won't stay here again. The food at the hotel restaurant is meh.

Positives:
Front desk staff was excellent. Lobby was both inviting and lively. Food at the restaurant hit the mark consistently. Location was perfect for our needs: restaurants, shopping, transportation all within walking distance.
Negatives:
We had a plumbing issue (leaking shower head) that took too long to get fixed. But they fixed it and were very nice about it. Also generous with extra hangers we requested.

Stylish and in a great...
Positives:
We came for 1 night trip. I booked a standard room for me and my daughter. A week or two before the trip, I got an email from the hotel asking if I'd like to upgrade the room in case this was a chance. There were a few options. I picked the 1st one - $8 and forgot.
Imagine our surprise upon arrival when I got a key and heard, "Welcome to your Presidential Suite." What!?!?!?!" It was on the 17th floor with a great view, a vast bedroom, a living room with a round table for 6, two bathrooms, and a jacuzzi. We were both excited. And despite having a chance to enjoy it all for just one night, we really did!
I'm very thankful to Sonest Hotel for such a fantastic and unexpected bonus! It was my girl's first trip to Washington, DC, and she liked it to the Moon and back.

Superb
Positives:
The bed was super comfortable especially after a long day of walking and sight seeing around the DC area. Also the close proximity to the rail system. If you are staying in this area no need to rent a car.
Negatives:
Since my husband and I are avid coffee drinkers, coffee in the lobby would have been nice. Especially in the morning.
