Great Staff, Rooms, Pool, Happy...
Positives:
Kathleen at the front desk was so welcoming upon arrival. We were provided two free drink tickets per person to use at the bar on the night of our arrival. We were able to check-in to our room early which was a huge help. Breakfast was free and had a huge variety. Location was close to the Fort Lauderdale Cruise Terminal. Beautiful view from our room of the cruise ships coming in. Plenty of elevators available. Beautiful lobby/waiting area.
Negatives:
Bathroom door in our room would get stuck. You had to use a lot of force to get it to open once you were in the bathroom. Our balcony door chain lock was not in working order - could be a hazard with small children. The egg/omelet station at breakfast was a little confusing. Some people waited at the end of the counter for their food to be finished, others waited at their table, and some thought it was self serve.

Great stay before your cruise!
Positives:
Nothing. No one told me construction would be happening during our stay. The manager Rebecca said was nothing she could do about it. We experienced drilling and hammering from 6a-6p
Negatives:
I didn't like that the manager did nothing to accommodate us, paying $900+ for our stay was not worth the inconvenience. The TV barely worked and the WHOLE 9th floor they put us on was under construction as well as floors 10-12

Great place to stay before...
Positives:
Loved the grounds of the hotel, with a lot of comfortable seating around the pool. Was impressed with the lobby area encompassing the breakfast area and restaurant with passage to the pool area. The included breakfast was efficient, good variety of breakfast foods and very well laid out. Concierge services was outstanding, as well as all workers at the check-in desk. Location was perfect. It was a short walk to the River Taxi. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Negatives:
The decor was dated. Rooms seemed dark, especially in the sitting area. However, it was clean and comfortable. Loved the balcony.

The property needs renovation. It is very worn and outdated. I was surprised at how dirty the carpets were… It looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. There was so much dirt everywhere. The elevators were very dirty as well. It was surprising to me as I always love Embassy Suites.
