I booked a gulf view room. When we checked in they didn’t have a gulf view room. They charged the gulf room rate to my card with the promise they would move us when one became available. Guess what? One never became available. At check out I ask my rate to be adjusted to the room we had. I was first informed they are all the same rate. Of course they are not you pay more for gulf view and rightfully so. We did not have a gulf view. After about 30 minutes and back and forth they apologized and agreed to charge me the going rate for the room we were given. In hindsight we were simply agreeing to do the right thing so I would go away. We stayed 5 nights and originally was charged 2,435.38. The final charge to me was 2,376.82. It should have been 250.00 off my rate and reduced taxes and fees. You also pay parking which came out in a separate charge. Beware. It is my belief you can stay at an updated hotel for the same amount this hotel costs. Plus you run the risk of paying for something you didn’t even receive. Dear Hampton please do not respond you hate hear about my experience because you certainly didn’t care enough when I was standing in front of you and lied to my face. You took 58.56 off so basically one night of the five we stayed with you. That is not even counting how I saved up so I could have a gulf view room sit on my balcony and look at the ocean.
