Friendly staff at the check in desk

Being blindsided at check in that we had to pay $20 to leave our car in the lot!...
Consierge does not exude that ‘Southern Hospitality’. I felt like a bother when I asked if there was a restaurant within walking distance..she waved toward the door and said ‘across the street in City Walk’. We went outside to the sidewalk and only saw another hotel. Went back in and asked again, telling her that I only saw a hotel..’Well you have to go behind the hotel!’ Didn’t say that the first time..
The room was in the back of the hotel on the ground floor, not more that 50 feet from new hotel construction, saws, hammering, etc...in the morning at 6:45 no less that 12-15 construction people sitting on the sidewalk outside our door!Bot being rude but just talking and laughing..
Room was dingy..light out in the bathroom..
Not one good experience that I can think of..very disappointed these accommodations would be recommended by AAA.

The location was within feet of beach. They allowed my three dogs, which is main reason I stayed.

The continental breakfast was very nice.
Negatives:
The stay was incredibly loud. College kids partied all night, every night during our stay, and the hotel staff did not enforce any sort of quiet hours. The hotel was also located next to an active construction site that was full of heavy equipment noise throughout the day.

The hotel was, unfortunately, the worst part of our otherwise nice trip to Savannah.
