The staff are amazing and extremely helpful, from front desk to housekeeping. Everyone on staff we interacted with was helpful, courteous, and kind.

Pretty much everything else. It is an exorbitant cost for what is essentially a college dorm hall. The rooms are quite small, and charging $120+ a night is honestly disrespectful given what we walked into.
Your hotel also did not deal respectfully with my brother, who brought lots of business your way due to his wedding. He requested a group rate for a block of rooms and was given a rate *higher* than the going rate for individual rooms. When you get business from nearly an entire family, one would think a reasonable group rate is mutually beneficial. Instead we were scattered across the entire hotel to make the wedding guests' stays more affordable, rather than enjoying our weekend stay with our loved ones.
As for the hotel itself, it is built lousily. The rooms are tiny, and the walls are so thin I could hear voices from the next room as if they were in ours; yet they were not speaking loudly. There is but a single elevator so far from most of the rooms on each floor that it saved time to take the stairwell. The elevator was also extremely humid and warm, as if the pool opened up directly into the elevator shafts. Even the lobby was noticeably stuffy compared to the rooms, and being outside in the heat was easier than the lobby at times.
The shuttle provided for the wedding party was also a mismanaged situation. It did not stay barely a minute past 10 pm, forcing many guests to find their own rides back, myself included.
It's honestly hard to believe this is a Marriott. I would never recommend Aloft and certainly don't plan to return myself. Nothing is wrong with a modern hotel, but the modernity should be an aesthetic, not an excuse to cut corners on your facilities and do lousy business.
I want to reiterate the complaints above do not reflect your guest-facing staff.

Love the vibe and the staff is friendly. Definitely more upbeat any time of day which is nice. We checked in around 10pm and there were people enjoying the hotel bar, playing pool, and 24/7 snack/drink shop which is great. Cute stay for a little date night/weekend.
Negatives:
We’ve never had this problem staying here before but this time the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. The bed was hard and could feel broken springs pushing thru. And the pillows were flat and really bad we definitely needed more.

The pool was closed and they did not advertise or disclose it in their website when I was booking the reservation. It was upsetting to learn the pool was closed when we booked this hotel because of the pool amenities it listed it had. I couldn’t cancel the reservation and go elsewhere so we ended up staying and making the most of the situation. They should have definitely disclosed on their website about the pool being closed.

The breakfast is decent though not the classic “buffet” I was used to. You order at a window. Selection is small, price seems a bit steep but that’s just standard for this part of the world I think. (There is an iHOP in walking distance)
