Our hotel was near a fire station. About every 15-20 minutes, we heard loud sirens going by our room (either a cop car or fire truck or both). We were on the fourth floor, just above a main street in downtown Chicago. If I had known about all of the street noise we would be forced to hear, along with restaurant music noise from a place just below our room on the sidewalk, I would have either chosen a different hotel, or I would have at least requested an inner room--not something facing the street. I got very little sleep, and I got sick of the noise.
