We tried to check in 30 min early (3:30pm CST) and our room wasn't ready. We were on a time crunch so due to that we had to leave and go to our event and couldn't check in until we got back around 11pm - not the end of the world but we were very tired from our travels and walking that day and it would've been nice to just arrive back from our event and to be able to head right to our room. Also we had planned to get changed and freshen up in our room before the event but since we couldn't check in that couldn't happen. They did let us use the restroom attached to the fitness room to change clothes in at 3:30 which was kind, but not ideal. I understand we arrived early but it seems like by 3:30 all rooms should be ready to go for a 4pm check in.
Once we finally made it to our room at 11pm it smelled very very strongly of cleaning products. I appreciate that the room was clean but the smell was so strong we both got headaches just from being in the room and breathing.
The AC unit was on the ceiling and was "controlled" by a remote - I use quotations because either the remote or the unit did not work, or they did not work with each other. We like to have the unit on for white noise at night, but what we got instead was a flashing orange error message and an intermittent clicking that kept us up for several hours into the night.
We specifically chose this hotel for its price and location, as we were only in town for one night and wouldn't be spending much time in the room - we just needed a place to sleep. I suppose you get what you pay for (it was a much more affordable option than many others we looked at) but it's unfortunate that very little sleep happened due to a malfunctioning AC unit.

Room was clean. Check in and check out was easy. Location was close to where I needed to go.

Employees could’ve been nicer. Room is very small. The metal beds are very creaky. There was no fan in the bathroom.
