The location is excellent - you're steps from the river and only a couple of blocks from Michigan avenue and all of the restaurants and activities that come along with both. The staff were phenomenal - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a great size, and the views from the window benches are great.

I may have missed a notice when booking but the restaurant was still under construction (scheduled to open in July).

Around hotel at night, it didn’t feel safe. One female staff was bordering rude when checking in.
Rotten banana peels on the carpet. I think it got missed because was brown on brown carpet. When I didn’t know what it was, it looks scary and disgusting.

We had an unexpected layover in Chicago during the Memorial Day weekend. We booked the L7 Chicago because of the combination of reasonable price, good location, and good reviews. When we arrived, we were very happy with our choice. We were checked in early (we were only hoping for them to hold our luggage until check in). The location was excellent (sort of kitty cornered to the Chicago River). Our room had a view of the river, and it was very nice. Room was clean and bright. We weren't there long enough to use the lobby, but it looked warm and nice, and many people were enjoying it.

Very nice, unexpected stay on...
Positives:
We booked a room last minute to stay just half a day before our late night flight and did not regretted a second that we had to pay a full day rate. The room was excellent with a fabulous day-bed on a window ledge overlooking Chicago river. In fact it was so nice we did not want to leave. The staff was super accommodating, as we arrived just after 10 am and had our room ready for us. Will certainly come back again.
