Exceptional
Positives:
Location, Staff, Room Design, quiet HVAC Unit
Negatives:
On our second day we came back to the room at 3:30 PM to dress for a wedding that evening, we found that we had not received any housekeeping services from the previous night. No clean towels, no made bed, no brush and tidy up the room. Around 1 1/2 hours after a couple of calls we received some clean towels. The reason I was given our room was not cleaned was that the hotel was "short staffed". The price of the room includes maid service that we did not receive.
I strongly suggest that the bathrooms should be equipped with a night light. Most hotels
this amenity as a safety feature for the guests.

Except for one blip, it...
Positives:
The lobby and the exterior of the hotel have a beautiful ornate decor. in a great location. easy to walk to a lot of restaurants, millennium Park, and just get a good view of the city. Good shopping is also nearby, within walking distance.
Negatives:
The hotel room was much smaller than the pictures. might believe you two see, and I had a king suite. bathroom is also very small. The hotel is a little older with dings and marks throughout that kind of took away from the allure of the space. especially considering it is supposed to be a four-star hotel.

Meh.
Positives:
Well located.
Negatives:
The staff was not rude, but definitely not kind in any way. Not friendly at all.

Way below our expectations
Positives:
Great location. Clean. Vintage decorations and good art selection. Large hotel room. Bar poured good drinks and was active. Property was not overcrowded.
Negatives:
Below average wifi. AC thermostat did not get the room cold enough. Bathroom and sink were too small. TV programming was totally unacceptable, not even local channels and no movie, news or sports.

Positives:
Property was in a good location
Negatives:
I changed rooms literally every night I was there. On my second day there I missed the house keeper time slot because I was in meetings. So when I called to get them to do clean the room and change the sheets they didn't have clean sheets readily available. They said they would be available at 8pm and it was just left on my bed and I had to do my own bedding. Then I woke up the next day and had two bites on my leg from what I believe to be from bed bugs. So on night 3 I got another room and was promised part of my stay would be compensated but no follow up and a full charge was made on my credit card.
Overall I did not feel good about my stay and probably will never go back. Eric at the front desk was awesome he did the best he could. But overall was not impressed.

Positives:
I stayed in the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago Loop for 5 nights for my 2nd majors marathon.
When I checked in, the hotel reception gave me a warm welcome , and when I asked questions regarding the public transport CTA and boat tour, Hetal the receptionist gave me clear and specific directions and information how to get there. My room was big , warm and comfortable.
On the Sunday marathon day the hotel gave runners a special breakfast in the lobby. The hotel wasn’t very far from the start and finish marathon event.

Positives:
The location was very convenient and central, the hotel was clean
Negatives:
The room and bathroom were TINY! The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The front desk is not very friendly or accommodating. $30/day service fee that was communicated separately from the booking price is annoying.
