Allow early checking without charge even if we still have wait to access room. The line was really long to check in at 3 pm. No view.

Positives:
I always enjoy the Palmer House. It is an older property, but it's very comfortable. There is a large lounge where one can hang out and read, or people watch. The meals are very good also.
Negatives:
They have a mandatory spa charge, but, on a one day trip, you can't use it. The charge is $25 and most services are a minimum of $150. Of course, they don't have any spaces available if you are just there overnight.

Positives:
The Palmer House is a gorgeous building!
Negatives:
It’s very expensive for what it is. The view I had was of everyone else’s hotel room and I paid $300 for a double bed…that’s wildly expensive for what I’ve paid elsewhere. I’ve paid $200 at the Union League Club

Positives:
Cleanliness
Negatives:
Firstly, there is no free parking. Paid parking is available in a parking garage close by but every time you take your car out of garage, you’ll have to pay additional charges.
Secondly, the price is not worth it. There is so much hidden fees. I booked online for $380 and had to pay almost $475 each room. I booked two rooms. Upon checking in the lady gave the cards for two connecting rooms with a king bed each. When we entered the rooms one of those didn’t have any bed. There was just a sofa and kitchen. All we had for 4 people and a baby was a king bed. We had to carry all our luggage to the reception and ask for another room. The other room was on same floor but on the opposite corner. It was not convenient at all. I would not recommend this place

Horrible
Positives:
The building has an outward appearance of historic charm but once looking inside, you see there is more than meets the eye on the initial glance.
Negatives:
The line to check in was horrendously long. No signage that encourages online check-in so I wasn't aware it was an option. Walked down the hall with peeling wallpaper and dim lighting to come to our room and immediately upon opening the door, be greeted with a musty smell. The rooms are tiny, old and outdated. Could not find a general map of rooms on the floors so had to just walk until we found other group members' rooms. Overall disappointed for the high cost of the room. Was expecting lavish, beautiful and historic but instead encountered rundown, unappealing and old.
