Comfort Inn Gurnee near Six Flags

Negatives: I paid on booking for a room and arrived at the hotel they told me my room was token by someone else and that even though I paid for the room it’s first come first serve I didn’t understand that being I paid for 2 days already I believe they did that because I was from out of town then I requested a late check out and they said that would be fine then they locked me out the room when I went to the front desk the lady I’m told me that that happens sometimes and she can give me access then as me and my kids is in there packing and changing to leave maintenance walked in I told them we had a late check out he apologize and said sorry he wasn’t told this place is very uncomfortable unprofessional and not safe with staff not communicating with each Irene and walking into room made me feel very uncomfortable being a single mother with kids from out of town and people walking. Into my room locking me out my room and selling my original room I do not recommend

Negatives: Although the staff are friendly it doesn't make up for the serious need for improvement. The hotel in itself needs renovation. The staff does a good job of keeping it clean but the facilities are outdated. The button to the elevator on the second floor was broken so we had to push a piece of plastic down to get it to work. The rooms are in need of fresh paint and a good deep clean. The bathroom has an water issue it is causing water to collect behind the wall in the bathroom. The carpet in the hallway needs to be updated and the bedding needs to be changed.

Negatives: The hallway on the ground floor smelt like a pool, probably because they propped the pool door open while we were there. I am sure there was a good reason for that. Next time will probably be different. Pool was nice. Hot tub could be a smidge hotter.
