I liked that it was in a convenient spot and easy to book a room

I walked in the room and it looked fine at first, checked in, walked back into my room to unpack. The toilet wasn't flushed at all from the previous user, the bed sheets were damp, the mattress and sheets had stains on them, and possibly bed bugs in the seem of the mattress. Added on to that, the elevator shook am randomly and was extremely slow and did not feel safe whatsoever I immediately checked out and went to the Drury inn across the street at a similar price and the hotel there was a 10/10 hotel.

This hotel was unsanitary and run down.
During the check in, the receptionist informed me I'd need to check my room before finishing the check in process because he can't guarantee the quality of the room.
First thing, there were piles of garbage bag outside the elevators?? Also a plastic tote of junk and garbage outside of someone's room in the hall.
The room : Mold in room on the walls and by the AC unit,, a refrigerator that definitely didn't belong in the room and was blocking part of the entry way as you're walking into your bedroom area. The floor was dirty in the room.
I didnt bother asking for a different room, just canceled my reservation.
Also took a month of arguing back and forth with Booking customer service to even get a PARTIAL refund back when the hotel granted a full refund/approved the cancelation of the reservation.

The bed was fairly comfortable.
It had a full size refridgerator.

The staff was having some drama between them and it took 20 minutes to find an employee.
The "skunk" smell was very prominent as well.

The girl working the front desk was working so hard and very sweet.

Pictures online showed the renovated entry but the rooms were VERY rough. Both beds were broken and had plywood under holding them up. Toilet wouldn’t flush and shower was hardly getting any water out of the shower head. Stains on carpet and bedding and last.. the SMELL! Cigarette smoke, weed, musty old rooms.

I do like the location is very convenient to be a base of operations in the terms of shopping, eating, and sightseeing. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I do like the idea of the kitchenette in the room for meal prepping, but my husband and I only used the fridge to store our food and drinks and used the microwave to heat up our food. Maybe next time, we can use the full kitchenette experience.
Negatives:
The only free breakfast option they offered was instant oatmeal along with coffee. The bed felt really uncomfortable, and I don't know why a budget hotel would have a decorative pillow and runner for the bed. To me, I believe those two things are just a waste of space, especially for a budget hotel.
