Location was outstanding, whatever your plans would be in downtown Boston, everything was close by. Modern and contemporary design, good bar and breakfast place.
Negatives:
I had an issue with the fan in the bathroom being constantly on and it was loud all through the night. The staff tried to look at solving it but they did not.

The rooms were well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The location is very central and close to all the neighborhoods we wanted to explore while in Boston.
Negatives:
The staff were overwhelmed, unhelpful, and rude. There was a miscommunication between booking.com and the property that resulted in our room not being available. Both the property and booking.com have been incredibly difficult to work with and I have yet to recieve a refund for our $600 room. I will never stay at this property OR use booking.com ever again.

Positives:
It can't be overstated how fantastic the location is. It's a short walk to the several neighborhoods of the city, abuts the Greenway, and is a pleasant walk to the subway that will efficiently take you anyplace else you might want to go. The hotel itself was adequate. It definitely seemed clean, both the room and public spaces. The lobby was pleasant but on the small side. For what it's worth, and although we didn't use it much, the TV and user interface was nice. The WiFi/internet access was also good.
Negatives:
When a hotel charges more than $600 a night for a regular room it sets certain expectations that the Canopy simply does not meet. What was lacking were all of the little touches in everything from staff and service to the lobby and public spaces and the room. I paid a little more for a "city view" room, and the view was pathetic (dominated by a utilitarian fenced in parking lot or something like that). We were put in an accessible room, which was not made clear ahead of time. I specifically avoid accessible rooms because the accommodations, which our group does not require, necessitate changes that create compromises in the space and detract from the layout and overall enjoyment of the room. I would not have booked the stay had I known it would be an accessible room. Front desk staff were competent but short of polite let alone friendly and helpful. We did receive a friendly greeting from a valet as we were leaving, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job.
Also, when checking in, in addition to the full balance owed, they strangely charge a $100 a night "deposit". It's refunded at the end of the stay, but it's odd and again doesn't seem like a guest friendly policy. It's something I might expect from a roadside motel.
