Great hotel.

Good location, between Cambridge and Boston Commons with the TD Garden only a five minute walk away. Good size room that easily accomodate family of four. Loved the bathroom, beds were comfortable and room fairly clean.
Negatives:
We didn't realize that the room wouldn't be cleaned unless requested. We got towels replaced as often as we wished but would have loved a bit more housekeeping.

It was a quick Boston...

This is a decent hotel—nothing special, but good enough for a short-term stay. The location is pretty convenient for seeing the historical center of Boston.
A special thanks to the receptionist who met us and arranged an early (very early indeed) check-in.
Negatives:
My booking was fully paid for in advance, and the receptionist who met us confirmed that. But when we returned home, I discovered the hotel unauthorizedly charged my credit card. The hotel staff explained that they had some 'hotel charges', which they didn't bother to tell us about before our stay.
So be ready for them to dig into your pocket for $25 per night just because they want to and you gave them your credit card number. If that is not a scam then what is it?
A special request for booking.com to take note of this.

The accommodations were practical and comfortable: bathroom design, size of room, and closet space. It was also very clean.

The location was within walking distance to lots of attractions and great food with the north end being so close. The street the hotel is on doesn't get a lot of foot traffic so there was no issue with noise even with td garden being just down the street. The room was perfectly sized with two double/queen sized beds and a separate bath. Hairdryer and coffee pod maker were provided in the room despite what other reviews warned. There was no cleaning service during our stay but we had plenty of towels for 6 days and could have asked for more if needed. Everyone was very friendly.
Negatives:
It would be nice to have a list of amenities available in the lobby listed in the rooms for quick reference. Also, there needs to be some clarity about the breakfast and whether it is complimentary or not as there is a memo posted near the elevator that implies it is. It wasn't a big deal as we ate out for every meal (and Boston has great food so you really should be eating out) but I thought it was confusing.
