Positives: Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The design of the room & bathroom was very nice. Location was good just few steps across TD Garden. There are a lot of restaurants around the area. There is also a complimentary breakfast at the hotel lobby.
Negatives: Nothing. We had a great stay.

Positives: The room was good and fairly spacious.
Negatives: The room we stayed in (room 810) was directly next to a cleaners storage room and we were woken from as early as 7.45am each morning with cleaners spending the next 90 mins in and out of the store room and bumped and banged disrespectfully and made it impossible to sleep despite asking them (they just shrugged their shoulders). This happened every morning on the 7 nights we were staying there. The hotel staff did nothing to resolve this either with a bare minimum reply of ‘we’ll see what we can do’ but nothing changed. I understand the cleaners need to access the cupboard but they could try to at least be quiet and also close the door without leaving it to bang each time. They were also talking loudly amongst themselves and again with no care or regard for the hotel guests on the floor. Secondly, the hotel front desk staff were the worst I’ve ever know from my 30 plus years of traveling and staying in hotels. We never got any welcome or warming greeting when we checked in. The man working behind the counter had his earphones on and eating his takeout pizza at the front desk on show for customers to see. Extremely unprofessional. He basically muttered our room number, no further details and just handed our room keycard and went back to his mobile phone. The room itself was fine and no complaints in terms of the room. However the entrance and lobby area were very bland, cold feeling and very empty looking. I have stayed at the onyx two other times when it was under the Kimpton hotel umbrella and it was a much nicer looking lobby and overall entrance and seating area with a bar and tables. The tables have gone, the bar gone, about 3 bagels and 1 pastry for a so called continental breakfast and that was early morning approx 8.15am so it’s not like they’d run out. The entire setup was an embarrassment of a mess. The staff under kimpton were very polite, friendly and courteous which is the opposite of what the hotel now has.

Positives: Room was wheelchair accessible and had a roll in shower. One person in our party uses a wheelchair and our room was very comfortable for them.
