Negatives: unfriendly disinterested staff. For the price, the amenities were subpar.

Negatives: It's an old hotel

Negatives: Very expensive for what it was. Was surprised to see an added facilities fee. No one at the front desk mentioned anything about the facilities.

Negatives: It was listed as one of the better hotels in Boston but to us it was rather average. The rooms were clean but lacked any kind of amenities (no fridge, no mini bar) - yet when we received the bill there was a $35/room amenity fee, when asked what that is for I was told for the room amenities (like coffee and wifi). So we paid $70 for one cup of terrible coffee we made in the two room we booked for the night - on top of the $500/room. Breakfast food was good - but they had two servers managing the big breakfast room and they were way over overwhelmed and forgot things, or wouldn't come for 10min at a time. I ordered a cappuccino from the menu and they said they can't do that - but they can make an espresso and they will bring warm milk with it, really?! Which seemed like they had no staff trained on the coffee machine to make the drinks they have on the menu - pretty sad. Any gas station in Italy can make you any espresso drink you like yet a $500/night hotel can't manage to make 2 out of the 3 coffee drinks on their menu!? Some of the staff at the reception was very snotty and acted annoyed when "being bothered" with a question - which is not really what we are used to when we travel in Europe. If you work in hospitality - be hospitable and don't have attitudes with guests that come and stay with you and make them feel like they bother you.

Negatives: Cleaning of rooms seemed to vary between mornings and afternoons so planning afternoon sleeping was a little awkward and we had to just put do not disturb. The cleaning itself could have been better as there was dust on nearly every surface, and the carpet , which is looking a little tired, was not hoovered every time it was cleaned and there was quite a few crumbs around the coffee table that stayed a while. We asked about late check out two days before leaving and no one was able to advise and to check on the morning of departure, yet on that morning we were told there were 320 people checking in and it was not possible. but this must have been known two days before and we could have sourced a day room somewhere else. With a rather bumpy flight back to the UK late that evening, we were basically walking around Boston from 11:00 Wednesday morning, until we left at 6pm for the airport and did not sleep until we returned home 26 hours later. having somewhere to relax, sleep and prepare for the journey would have been nice and while i understand the occupancy, a little more advanced notice would have helped. It did seem that large groups and conferences are the priority as facilities seemed more available when conferences were on, and the lounge area sometimes had coffee, was closed off sometime, which seemed a little strange given the vast amount of alternate conference spaces in the hotel. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but in our opinion, quite significantly less value for money compared to the hotel we left in Manhattan for the same price. Realistically, I am not sure we would stay again, if we come to Boston, but it was okay.

Negatives: The room wasn’t worth what we paid. There was mold in the shower, and the bed was so uncomfortable. The bathroom had streaks, the shower curtain was half off, and it was a terrible shower head.

Negatives: Nothing. Your staff and accommodations are excellent.

Negatives: A complimentary breakfast would have been nice given that the room was quite expensive
