Sheraton Boston Hotel

Negatives: some part of hotel are under renovation but it's very okay

Negatives: There was mention of some work being done on the hotel but we weren't aware the level was to be as extreme. There is no hotel bar, there is no place to eat, no lobby to wait. They have tried to spin it by suggesting in room dining is available. All of this is perfectly fine.... What we unhappy with was the fact the pool was closed, and there was no mention of this in advance. We were able to use the pool in the "nearby" Marriot 15 minutes away across the center. We are a family who love to swim (mornings and nights) so it was inconvenient but our only option to access a pool. The pool was a major reason for booking this hotel in the first place, it would have been nice to have been contacted about this, as we could have rebooked for another hotel or at least considered our options. Accessing the pool involved having to check in with the other hotel, prove we were guests in the Sheraton and be issued keys, which had to be returned after each use. It was not the easiest but we just got on with it. It didn't ruin our stay but it would have been nice to know in advance.

Negatives: No advanced warning that the property was being refurbished. There was no restaurant or bar in the hotel. Fortunately the adjoining Prudential Centre had excellent catering facilities

Negatives: In our suite the shower was badly positioned right beside the toilet making it awkward to get into and out of the shower. The shower head didn’t function properly making it necessary to rely on the hand-held sprayer. There were no instructions on how to operate the coffee maker. The receptionist who checked us in was inefficient and ineffective. She didn’t contact us to tell us when the room was ready with the result we didn’t get access to the suite until half-an-hour after 4.00pm even though we had arrived at the hotel around 1.00pm.

Negatives: Having breakfast

Negatives: Scent of toiletries was strong for a scent sensitive person. No bathtub. Toilet clogged. Exhaust fan in shower didnt work

Negatives: When we booked our reservation, I went to the website and didn’t see anything about construction. I also booked a room with a view of the river which indicated it would be a room on one of the higher floors. When we checked in, we were told the construction would be well above the 5th floor. We met with construction workers every day as we left or came into our room. The barhroom was small with a tub that looked like it needed to be replaced. Yes there was a couch but it did not allow to easily watch the TV. The bed was quite a distance to be able to view the TV and to be able to read the TV guide. Housekeeping was helpful and pleasant.

Negatives: We were put on floor with workers of renovation when we were told few days before arriving we would be on upper floor of renovation. No fan in bathroom and heater didnt work. I had to ask for extra blankets. Very disappointing for a marriott hotel and the price we had to pay. No place to get coffee in hotel.

Negatives: The lobby is not finished but it was okay. There was a fire alarm and we found out the fire escape is lacking in directions

Negatives: The fact that the restaurant and pool was not in use.

Negatives: the cleaning staff, nock at the dor, try to open it at around 8:45 am this is not serious service foe a 4 star hotel… Or either they have how to identify if the guest is inside the room or this isn’t the time to have the cleaning working….
